Epoxy polyurethane enamel EPU-ZZKR - extremely strong two-component covering is intended for anti-corrossion protection. It has high strength characteristics and adhesion to various materials. It is recommended for use as a protective coating of facilities operated in aqueous, acidic, alkaline environments, as well as in contact with all types of petroleum products. Enamel is frost-resistant, able to withstand cyclic loads of temperatures.

The advantage of EPU coating is in resistance to shock-deformation and vibration loads, naturally increases the service life and quality of protection of welds, prevents the formation of cracks and peeling in these places, typical of epoxy coatings.
EPU-33KR enamel meets the requirements of DSTU 4219-2003 "Main steel pipelines", has a permit from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for use in the food industry, as well as access to drinking water. EPU-33KR enamel is successfully used in public utilities for internal protection of metal and concrete pipes, water communications and concrete constructions of sewerage system, for a covering of an internal surface of pipes of the main water supply systems of various diameters.
The coating is stable in the following environments:
- Water
- 3% Sodium Chloride Solution
- 5% Hydrochloric Acid Solution
- 25% Sulfuric Acid Solution
- 10% Sodium Hydroxide Solution
- Hydrochloric Acid Fumes
- Mineral Oil I-12a
- Nefras C2 80/120 (Gasoline)

Epoxpolyurethane enamel EPU-ZZKR consists of two liquid components: a base and a hardener.
The proportions of mixing the two liquid components per 1 kg of enamel:
- red-brown base - 785 gr.
- hardener - 215 gr.
Depending on the customer's needs, the following types of packaging may be provided :
- 1 kg / set
- 5 kg / set
- 10 kg / set
- 50 kg / set
- Enamel is prepared immediately before use.
- The red-brown base must be poured into a dry clean container and mixed thoroughly.
- The hardener flows into the base in a small stream with constant stirring.
- After preparing the enamel, the container is closed with a lid.
- It is necessary to exclude moisture, as moisture can cause deterioration of the coating.
- Enamel should be prepared in such portions to use it for 3-4 hours
Enamel is applied in any of the following ways:
- airless spraying,
- pneumatic spraying,
- brush or roller.
Metal surfaces must be cleaned of grease, dirt, rust till they are shiny. It is most appropriate to use sandblasting machines for this purpose.
Concrete surfaces must be cleaned of grease, dirt, mold.
The surfaces must be dry.
Optimal temperature of enamel application on the surface: 20-25 ºС.
Epoxy polyurethane enamel EPU-ZZKR is applied to a pre-prepared surface in two or three layers with a thickness of at least 100 μm. The thickness of one layer is about 40-50 μm.
The drying time of the first layer is 3-4 hours at a temperature of 20-25 ºC., after that the second layer of enamel is applied.
The time of complete drying of the coating is 24 hours at a temperature of at least 20 ºC.
The coating is ready for operation in 3-7 days. When operating in industrial conditions, implement the coating scheme using epoxy polyurethane varnish EPU-042L. For surfaces prone to increased abrasion, apply a three-layer coating. When operating in the food industry and in contact with drinking water, comply with the requirements of the "Hygienic Conclusion" №878.
When performing painting work, it is necessary to ensure compliance with the safety rules and industrial sanitation.
People involved in the preparation of enamel must be provided with personal protective equipment: robes or other overalls, rubber gloves, goggles, respirators.
Enamel work should be carried out in well-ventilated areas.
In case of contact with the enamel or its components, the contaminated area should be wiped with a rag, and then rinse thoroughly with soap and water. It is forbidden to eat without washing hands after using enamel.
Production facilities must be equipped with boxes with sand and a neutralizing mixture in case of spillage of enamel or its components in large quantities.
The componets of neutralizing mixture:
- isopropyl alcohol - 1 mass fraction,
- ammonia (25% solution) - 1 mass fraction,
- water - 5 mass fractions.
The spilled enamel base is covered with sand, collected for disposal, the spilled enamel or hardener is covered with sand impregnated with a neutralizing mixture and collected after 0.5-1 hour for disposal. The recycled product must not be incinerated. After painting, all containers, tools and equipment must be cleaned of enamel, as paint residues form a strong insoluble film.
For this purpose, you can use solvents: ethyl acetate, P-646.
We recommend EPU-33KR-coating for the protection of base metal structures and welds - pipelines, tanks, cisterns, load-bearing structures, cars, pumps (including those working in aggressive environments), on the objects of hydraulic structures, port equipment, as well as in the field of shipbuilding and ship repair.
